Decarboxylation

Thermal process that converts CBDA into active CBD.

Decarboxylation is the chemical process in which heat splits a carboxyl group off the acid form of a cannabinoid (CBDA, for instance). This produces the active form, CBD, which the body can absorb more readily.

The process typically takes place at temperatures between 100 and 150 degrees Celsius and is a decisive step in CBD production. Without decarboxylation, most CBD products would consist mainly of CBDA.

At Hemp Wholesale Europe, decarboxylation is carried out under precisely controlled conditions to ensure an optimal cannabinoid profile.
