Cosmetic raw material
CBD as an ingredient for cosmetic products under the EU Cosmetics Regulation.
CBD can be used as a cosmetic raw material in skincare products, creams, ointments and serums. Classification under the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC 1223/2009) allows legal sale without the novel food difficulty.
Specific requirements apply to CBD cosmetics: CPNP registration (Cosmetic Products Notification Portal), a safety assessment by a qualified safety assessor, and EU-compliant labelling.
